DRS Sensors & Targeting Systems, Inc. – Infrared Technologies Division offers a complete line of cryogenic coolers. These high performance coolers provide a thermal constant for effective detector operation. The technology cools an infrared detector, to cryogenic temperatures, providing the ability to effectively detect heat signatures in the scene or environment.

DRS cryogenic coolers are designed to meet the cooling requirements for a wide variety of infrared applications, both commercial and military. The compressors in these coolers utilize dual opposed piston design, patented by DRS. It offers minimal noise and vibration and has been fielded in a variety of applications.

The 1.0 Watt SADA II Linear Cooler is designed to meet the stringent requirements of the U.S. Army “OWL” cryogenic refrigerator. The unit has been successfully integrated into a number of defense systems, including vehicles, aircraft and shipboard systems. The 0.35 Watt plate spring linear cooler is another popular choice among customers.
