New applications are being discovered everyday. Infrared has long had a history of success in firefighting, medical imaging, industrial and military applications and markets. One of these new technologies being developed by DRS Infrared Technologies is dual-band technology. This new approach lets users gather spectral imagery over a broad range of infrared wavelengths in a single focal plane array (FPA). This simplified approach saves space and would provide customers with an excellent final product, capable of seeing long range over a multi spectral array. Soldiers could easily see their equipment incorporating the best of both worlds, thermal and image intensification (night vision). For the user, dual-band technology is the ultimate solution.
