Range Viewer

This Range Viewer tool provides an easy way to compare how the same Horizontal Field of View (HFOV) looks over several different distances, from close-up to long range, for both our 640x480 and 320x240 resolution thermal cameras. Select the appropriate Resolution, FOV, and Image Enhancement type including DRS Technologies’ proprietary Image Contrast Enhancement (ICE) or standard AGC. Use the “+” and “-“ buttons to click through the resulting set of infrared images.

Object Height (pixels)

Object Width (pixels)

Max Detection Range (meters / feet)

Max Recognition Range (meters / feet)

Max Identification Range (meters / feet)

Pixel data for the object height and width is derived from the DRS Infrared FOV Calculator which utilizes proprietary calculations. These calculations and the resulting data may differ from other algorithms. Range data is based on NVTHERM 2009. Modeled inputs include actual detector NETD (≤30mK), Lens (EFL, MTF, f/#, Transmission), 2° delta T (target vs. background), and atmospheric transmission 90% @ 1km. Image viewed in its native resolution with no scaling and no e-zoom applied. Other factors and assumptions apply. Information presented on this page is for informational purposes only.
